We track what we call GOBs, Gah Observed Beings.

The name is inspired by G.O.B. Bluth from Arrested Development and is pronounced the same way, like Job from the Bible. It reflects the slightly absurd, theatrical, and often surreal nature of internet fame.

Because sometimes the only reaction to the internet is simply:

“…gah.”

What is a GOB?

A GOB (Gah Observed Being) is any public online figure whose content, behavior, or presence draws ongoing attention, intentionally or unintentionally.

This can include:

LOLcows
Influencers
Viral personalities
Internet oddities
Recurring online characters

If someone repeatedly shows up on your feed and makes you say “what did I just watch?”, they’re probably a GOB.
